Oxygen Therapy with Ozone Steam Sauna
Ozone Therapy is a form of Oxygen therapy through which oxygen-releasing substances are introduced into the body. The extra oxygen is believed to revitalize organic functions and to increase the body’s ability to destroy disease-causing cells.
Ozone is a naturally occurring chemical that consists of three oxygen atoms. When ozone is introduced into the body, the immune system produces special messengers called cytokins. These activate other immune cells, setting off a cascade of positive changes throughout the immune system. In addition, medical ozone has highly pronounced bactericidal, fungicidal and virostatic properties, and is thus widely used in disinfecting wounds and in treating bacterial and viral diseases. Ozone stimulates the circulation and helps revitalizing organic functions.
The first Ozone generator has been developed in the US in 1986. Today, the most common form of ozone therapy is the “Ozone-Steam-Sauna”: the patient sits up to his shoulders in a sauna box that releases warm water and oxygen. Steam opens his / her pores and pure ozone can be absorbed through the skin. Once introduced into the body, the ozone oxidizes toxic metals and chemicals and converts them into a more water soluble form so that they can either be sweated out or eliminated through liver and kidneys.
This form of therapy is also highly appreciated by high-performance sportsmen and sportswomen that seek to boost their physical endurance.
